Read this section in full before installing or operating the rotary attachment.
The rotary attachment contains rotating parts and a clamping mechanism. Improper handling may cause pinch injuries, shattered glass, equipment damage, or laser-related harm. The user assumes all liability for any injury or property loss resulting from failure to follow these instructions.
- Always disconnect the rotary cable from the laser engraver before installing, removing, adjusting, or replacing any jaw.
- Never run a rotary job unattended.
- Keep the work area clear. Keep hands, hair, clothing, and tools away from rotating parts during operation.
- Wear laser safety glasses rated for the laser wavelength of your machine.
- Operate only in a well-ventilated area, and confirm your exhaust or air purification system is running.
¶ 2. Pinch and Rotating-Part Hazards
Warning: When you manually rotate the rotating module of the Drive Module, a pinch (crush) hazard exists between the chuck, the jaws, and the chuck body. Always keep the machine powered off and the rotary at a complete stop before handling. Never turn rotating parts by hand while the machine is powered on or running.
- When rotating or adjusting a workpiece by hand, keep your fingers clear of the gaps between the jaws and between the chuck and the base.
- Grip the workpiece from the outer side of the jaws. Do not place your fingers in the closing path of the jaws.
- After clamping, confirm all hands are clear of the rotating zone before you start the job.
- Rotating parts turn continuously during processing. Never touch a rotating workpiece or chuck.
- Long hair, cuffs, and glove edges can be pulled into rotating parts. Secure them before operating.
¶ 3. Clamping Glass and Fragile Items (Important)
Warning: When you clamp glassware, bottles, or other fragile items, excessive clamping force can crack or burst the item. Flying glass fragments can cause laceration injuries. Tighten the jaws slowly and in stages, and watch the item under load at all times.
- Tighten in stages: Tighten the jaws in small increments. Never force them shut in a single motion. Tighten only until the workpiece no longer wobbles and rotates in sync with the chuck — do not over-tighten.
- Apply even force: Ensure all three jaws contact the wall of the item simultaneously and evenly, to avoid single-point stress that leads to cracking.
- Watch the wall: As you tighten, watch the rim and wall for deformation or stress marks. Stop tightening immediately at any unusual sound or deformation.
- Protect the contact surface: For thin-walled or high-value glassware, add soft padding (such as rubber or silicone pads) between the jaws and the item to distribute the clamping force.
- Wear protection: Wear cut-resistant gloves and eye protection when clamping and removing fragile workpieces.
- After the job, confirm the workpiece has fully stopped rotating, then loosen the jaws slowly to remove it.
¶ 4. Focus and Collision Safety
- After clamping a workpiece, confirm there is sufficient clearance between the laser head and the workpiece, jaws, and tailstock to prevent collision during movement.
- Run a low-speed dry run (Framing) before processing to confirm the laser head path clears the highest point or any protruding feature of the workpiece.
- Allow extra clearance when processing irregular or off-center workpieces.
- Confirm the rotary attachment sits flat and stable on the work surface, with no tilt or wobble, before you start.
¶ 5. Electrical and Connection Safety
- Use only the rotary cable supplied with the attachment. Do not modify connectors or force them into place.
- Always power off the laser engraver before you connect or disconnect the rotary cable.
- Keep the cable away from rotating parts and process heat to prevent it from being pulled in or burned.
- Stop use immediately if the cable is damaged, a connector is loose, or any abnormality occurs during operation.

The following are not covered under warranty, including any resulting injury, workpiece damage, or equipment malfunction:
- Turning rotating parts by hand while the machine is powered on or running
- Cracking glass or fragile workpieces due to excessive clamping force
- Collision between the laser head and the workpiece, jaws, or tailstock
- Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or use of non-official accessories
- Failure to install and operate according to these guidelines
